What Is the What can be credited for having inspired this website. This novelized biography of Valentino Achak Deng's life growing up in Sudan and subsequently moving to the United States is nothing short of inspirational and triumphant and tragic all at the same time. New Home Syndrome

We recently bought our first home, which is scary and wonderful all at the same time. Now our weekends are spent deciding what we want to renovate and decorate next. Since we haven't really had our hand in interior design before, I'm using magazines to guide me along. So, I share with you my favorites to date...for those of you who are going to be jumping into a similar adventure in the near future:

Dwell Magazine- You'll see the most incredible houses in the world flipping thru the pages of Dwell. I also highly recommend the television show. :)

Elle Decor Magazine- From the beautiful and elegant to the more unusual, this magazine definitely satisfies a decorator's craving for inspiration.

Domino Magazine- By far my favorite, this magazine reads more like a fashion magazine and has ideas that range from things you can do on your own to things that you wish you had the thousands of dollars to by.

It's All About the Service

These days, great customer service is hard to come by, which is why I was amazed when I dealt with the folks at From You Flowers.

I had ordered this beautiful bouquet of Wild Plum Roses for a friend of mine to arrive the same day. When they realized the bouquet was not going to arrive on time, they called to apologize. But, not only did they apologize, they upgraded my bouquet and assured me that the bouquet would arrive first thing the next morning. They deal with local vendors, so they are not always in control, but it was nice that instead of throwing that excuse my way, they went out of their way to make sure my experience could still be a positive one. The flowers arrived in the morning, my friend loved them, and I'll definitely be buying from From You Flowers again.
